As a consultant I spend much of my time in foreign cultures. Not only in different countries, but in organizations that are not “where I come from”. I have the opportunity to observe and learn about those cultures and they even pay me for it! We are tourists because we don’t intend to stay there indefinitely, and we are specifically there to look around, learn about the culture, and reflect our insight back to our clients to help them see themselves differently.
